As summertime approaches, and you begin exercising, bicycling, walking and swimming again, you're likely to experience some pain. That's why we're featuring the Rebound TENS Unit. Lower back pain, tennis elbow, muscle and joint pain don't have to slow you down.

Rebound TENS Unit for Pain Relief

What is a TENS Unit?
A Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator, or TENS Unit, is used to treat pain. It sends small electrical pulses through the skin to the nerves.

The Rebound TENS Unit has two modes:

  1. High Frequency - A continuous, mild, electrical activity blocks the pain signal traveling to the brain. Brain cells perceive pain. If the pain signal does not get through to the brain, the pain is not “felt.”
  2. Low frequency - Short bursts of mild electrical activity cause the body to release its own pain easers called beta endorphins. This is done by stimulating the body’s own natural pain-control mechanism.

What Types of Pain does the Rebound TENS Unit Treat?
The Rebound TENS unit has been successfully used to treat many types of pain conditions, such as:
  • Chronic Pain
  • Acute Pain
  • Cervical (neck)
  • Post-operative
  • Amputation
  • Muscle and joint
  • Phantom limb
  • Tendonitis
  • Fractures
  • Lower back
  • Tennis elbow
  • Lumbago
  • Leg pain
  • Sciatica
  • Arthritis
Is the Rebound TENS Unit easy to use?
Here's a short video that demonstrates how easy it is to use.

As summer approaches, it's time to think about fitness, family vacations and outdoor activities. That means running, hiking, biking and swimming. Are you ready? Kettlebells can help you reach your goals.

In the video below, called "The KettleBell Swing," Physical Therapist Ann Wendel discusses how to properly do the exercise, correct body positioning and technique.

Benefits of the Kettlebell Swing

In her article, "Swing into Summer: The Kettlebell Swing," Ann explains the benefits of this exercise:
One of my favorite exercises to teach my clients is the Kettlebell Swing. This exercise has many benefits such as:
  • Teaching the hip hinge with spinal alignment
  • Developing strength in the posterior chain (back and butt)
  • Teaching patients to use their legs and hips to drive lifting motions rather than using their arms
  • Integration of the diaphragm and pelvic floor with lifting objects
  • Development of cardiorespiratory endurance
  • Development of grip strength

Let's Go!

Sound advice and motivation like this is what you need to reach our fitness goals. As a reminder, check with your physician to discover what level of exercise is appropriate for you, and always use proper technique and safe equipment.
